About Lindsay Miller Goodison
Many years ago, I left the field of corporate law in search of a career change. I wanted to finally pursue my longtime interest in crime and policing issues, so I decided to go back to school and get a Master’s degree in Criminology. I’ve found that the work that I’ve done since - providing thoughtful, research-based guidance to police departments, juvenile justice agencies, and other criminal justice organizations - has allowed me to use my research, writing, and analytical skills to make a positive impact in this field that I love so much.
When I opened my own consulting shop in 2021, I knew that I wanted to continue down this path. In the years since, I have been fortunate enough to work on projects that include:
Helping the Baltimore (City) Police Department and Minneapolis Police Department revise and strengthen their policies in alignment with federal consent decree requirements.
Working with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance and RTI International on the National Case Closed Project, which provides support to law enforcement agencies in improving their fatal and non-fatal shooting case clearance rates.
Developing policies and training for a new police department serving Johns Hopkins University, including directives covering body-worn cameras, responding to individuals with mental and behavioral health needs, hate and bias incident investigations, community policing, traffic enforcement, naloxone deployment, and officer recruitment and selection.
Working with the Police Executive Research Forum to update the body-worn camera guidelines that I helped develop in 2014.
I’m excited to apply my passion for criminal justice policy towards helping your agency or organization create meaningful change. Please explore the links below for more details about my current and past work, and feel free to contact me for more information.
